My Prom Was Kosher
Interesting article in The Jewish Week- Is My Prom Date Kosher? about taking non-Jewish dates to proms at day schools.
I went to yeshiva and brought a non-Jewish date to our (unofficial *) prom.
How far can this be taken? No non-Jews at school events? Does this mean that if a student's father is not Jewish or is just undergoing a conversion that he is not welcome at school plays?
*In reality the administration knew about the prom. It was one of those secrets that's not really a secret.

Actually, I think that it is smart for the Jews to prohibit race-mixing with prom dates. The only problem that I have with the Jews on this issue is their evident belief that ONLY they are entitled to keep their bloodlines pure. Such hypocrisy.
